Morning 16th October at Haiphong, NamTrieu shipbuilding Company (a subsidiary of Vinashin Group) had organized the launch Mother Lash 10,900 DWT. It is the 1st time a biggest Lash were designed and built at Vietnam.
M/V Mother Lash named Song Gianh was designed by Vietnam Marine science & technology and supervised by Vietnam registry. Ship’s particular is length: 183m, breadth: 25m, draft: 12m. It is 1st new product build in Vietnam belong to Lash system building model project of Vinashin Group which had been approved by Prime Minister. Song Gianh is specialized ship to transport lighters on which lighter carry dry cargo, bulk cargo, and container. On each voyage Mother Lash can transport 40 lighters – a lighter can carry 200mts cargos. The vessel is important link of Lash system include: Las-tug 190CV, tug boat, cutter suction dredger 500 m3. Lash is advanced transportation, apply at the developed navigation country in the world and make high economic effect. Lash can load and discharge at deep inland which have limited by narrow passage and no need big wharf. This method together save the time of transshipment, loss of cargo and reduce the time for loading or discharging at intermediate port. Basic on especial feature so the Lash also is complex product and can sail on river and sea. Lash is hollow hold in order to lift and carry lights but have to solid structure of big ship. To build success this ship, Nam Trieu shipyard company has promoted ability of whole of technical strong points and qualifications of engineers and workers. Up to now the ship had launched successfully marks new grown-up of Nam Trieu shipyard and Vinashin also. Song Gianh will be perfected and operated at the end of this year.
